Five thieves stole up to $250,000 in luxury goods during a brazen afternoon robbery at a Chanel store in Washington, D.C. last December. It happened at the CityCenterDC on I Street NW at around 5:30pm. Two people were dropped off by a white sedan, possibly a Mercedes. One of the men carried a fire extinguisher, which he used to spray an armed security officer on duty, as they made their way into the store. The suspects ransacked the shelves and grabbed as many handbags as they could.
