Wilkinson is at large after being named in a four-count federal grand jury indictment accusing him of selling counterfeit oxycodone pills to a 17-year-old who died of a fentanyl overdose. The teen had bought the pills in June of 2021 after responding to a Snapchat ad allegedly posted by Wilkinson. Seven defendants have been charged in unrelated cases for distributing fentanyl that has killed 10 people over the last several years.
In addition, a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of 27 families of minors (across the country) has been filed against Snapchat for features on the platform that allegedly encourages, enables and facilitates the existence of a deadly “Snapchat Drug Cartel†that uses the platform for illicit sale of illegal drugs, most of which are counterfeit and contain lethal doses of fentanyl. Brooke’s family is one of the families who have filed the suit.
